Dr. Nigel Tyre

We have with great sadness to announce the sudden death of Dr. Nigel W. Tyre in September 2012.

Nigel had just completed the 24 year + task of editing the Postal and Historical Information extracted from the Government Gazettes of the Straits Settlements and many of the States, assisted by several other MSG members. This great work was published a few weeks before his sad passing.

He had been a member of the MSG since 1986, and was a frequent presenter of displays. We will miss his great contribution, and his wry asides.

He leaves a wife and two young daughters.
