Malcolm Wade

The Malaya Study Group is sad to announce the passing of our former Chairman and distinguished member, Malcolm Wade. Malcolm was our Chairman from 1975 -1978, Packet Secretary from 1983-1985, a Committee Member from 1978 -1982, and a Member since he joined in 1969. He was always a very thorough researcher, and was noted for always helping other members, and introducing them to new areas of Malayan collecting.

His displays were renowned and always anticipated with interest. Memorable ones in recent years were Penang, Perak, and of course BMA. He was a major influence in the study of the postmarks of Malaya.

He was also a major collector of Postcards of Malaya, and not only displayed them, but also published books, with others, on the Postcards of Penang and Perak.
